The Downtown Facade Program provides grants of up to $75,000 per facade for eligible exterior improvements in Waterbury's Central Business District.
About this program
The Waterbury Downtown Facade Program assists property owners with exterior building improvements that address the appearance and condition of commercial, retail, and mixed-use buildings in the Central Business District. Eligible improvements include exterior code corrections, painting, siding, historic lighting and signage, repairs, doors and windows, trim and cornice work, security grate removal, historic rehabilitation, display windows, business signage, and outdoor dining improvements. Applications are reviewed monthly on a rolling basis.
Eligibility
Property owners of buildings located within Waterbury's Central Business District seeking eligible facade improvements.
Requirements
- Applicant must own property within Waterbury's Central Business District.
- Project must involve eligible exterior facade or storefront improvements.
- Applicant must provide photographs, insurance certificate, tax clearance, required affidavits, and IRS W-9.
