About this program
The MERIT Scholarship provides financial aid to children, spouses, and financial dependents of members of the U.S. Armed Forces or state-organized militia who died or became severely and permanently disabled while performing eligible military duties as New York State residents.
Eligibility
Eligible spouses, children, and financial dependents of qualifying Armed Forces or New York state-organized militia members meeting HESC residency and service-related criteria.
Requirements
- Submit MERIT Scholarship application with relationship documentation, service member casualty or disability documentation, New York residency evidence, enrollment information, and required HESC financial aid materials.
