Automatic waiver of first-year registration, permit, and license fees for qualifying new businesses.
About this program
First Year Free reduces startup costs for new and expanding San Francisco businesses by waiving initial registration fees, initial license fees, first-year permit fees, and other applicable fees through June 30, 2026.
Eligibility
New businesses or new locations starting on or after July 1, 2023 with $5 million or less in San Francisco gross receipts and a commercial location.
Requirements
- Register a qualifying new business or new location with the City
- Business cannot be home-based or a short-term rental
