NEA Grants for Arts Projects (FY 2027 GAP1)
Project-based funding for arts organizations across 15 disciplines including dance, music, theater, visual arts, museums, literary arts, and folk traditions. Supports public engagement with the arts, arts education, integration of arts with health and well-being, and capacity building. Includes Challenge America and Design and Our Town disciplines.

Two cycles per year. February cycle Part 1 deadline was Feb 12, 2026; July cycle Part 1 deadline July 9, 2026. Awards require a 1:1 cost share/match. Challenge America discipline provides set $10,000 grants.
Eligibility
Nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) U.S. organizations; units of state or local government; or federally recognized tribal communities. Must have completed at least 5 years of arts programming and have an operating budget of at least $20,000 in the previous fiscal year.
