About this program
The Durham Choice Business Retention and Recruitment Fund is managed by the National Institute of Minority Economic Development and funded by HUD. The fund supports existing and new small businesses in the Durham Choice neighborhood area, with priority for small and minority-owned businesses and uses such as property acquisition, facade rehabilitation, tenant buildout, equipment, and working capital.

Requirements
- Operate or locate in the Durham Choice eligible area
- Submit business documentation, project scope, use of funds, financial information, and application materials
- Meet grant or loan underwriting, eligible use, and reporting requirements
