Downtown Albany Retail Grant Program
Grant funding to help new and expanding retail businesses establish or improve downtown Albany locations.
About this program
The Downtown Albany Retail Grant Program assists businesses new to Albany in establishing a downtown retail location and helps existing City businesses expand by adding a downtown location. Existing retail locations in core areas of downtown Albany may also be enhanced through the program. Grant funding can support renovation and fit-up costs for new locations or exterior improvements to properties, helping fill storefronts and strengthen downtown retail activity.
Eligibility
Retail businesses new to Albany, existing City of Albany businesses expanding with a downtown location, and existing retail businesses in core downtown Albany areas seeking eligible location, renovation, fit-up, or exterior improvement support.
Requirements
- Operate or plan to operate an eligible retail business in downtown Albany
- Use funds for eligible new location renovation, fit-up costs, or exterior improvements
- Submit application information to Capitalize Albany Corporation
