IMLS Museum Grants for African American History and Culture
Builds the capacity of African American museums and supports the growth and development of their staffs, exhibitions, programs, and collections care. Funds activities that strengthen museum operations and increase services to communities.

FY26 deadline March 13, 2026. FY27 anticipated November 13, 2026.
Eligibility
Museums whose primary purpose is African American life, art, history, and culture, including nonprofit museums, governmental museums, and tribal museums.
