STEP Export Voucher Program
Cash reimbursement grants for Washington small businesses to offset expenses of expanding international sales. Funds cover trade shows, trade missions, airfare, interpreter services, translation, export training, and international marketing. Administered by Washington Commerce in partnership with the SBA.
About this program
Reimbursement-based — applicants must pay upfront and submit receipts. Application processing was paused during the fall 2025 federal government shutdown but resumed afterwards. Contact Mary Ferguson at Commerce for current cycle availability.
Eligibility
Washington-based small businesses (per SBA size standards) in business at least one year, exporting goods or services with at least 51% U.S. content, and able to demonstrate export readiness.
