Huntington Community Development Block Grant Program

Huntington administers CDBG funds for eligible community development, housing, public service, and neighborhood improvement activities.

About this program

The City of Huntington receives Community Development Block Grant entitlement funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and uses them for eligible local activities that benefit low- and moderate-income residents, address slum or blight conditions, or respond to urgent community needs. CDBG-funded activities may include public services, housing activities, infrastructure improvements, neighborhood facilities, economic development, and other community development projects identified through the city's planning process.

Eligibility

Eligible nonprofit organizations, public agencies, community partners, and qualified project sponsors serving Huntington residents may seek CDBG funding through the city's annual process.

Requirements

  • Project must serve City of Huntington residents or eligible neighborhoods.
  • Activity must meet a HUD CDBG national objective and eligible activity category.
  • Applicant must be an eligible subrecipient or implementing partner under CDBG rules.
