Athens-Clarke County Tax Allocation District Financing
Athens-Clarke County uses TAD financing to support eligible public and private redevelopment costs in six designated redevelopment districts.
About this program
Athens-Clarke County's Tax Allocation Districts are redevelopment financing tools that use increases in property tax revenue generated by new development in designated redevelopment areas to finance eligible development costs. TAD funds may support public infrastructure, demolition, utilities, planning costs, and certain private development costs within the district. ACC has six certified tax allocation districts: Mall Area, West Broad/Hawthorne Area, Newton Bridge, East Downtown, North Avenue, and Lexington Road.
