About this program
Michigan's State Trade Expansion Program, known as MI-STEP, provides reimbursement grant assistance to eligible Michigan small businesses for export activities that help them enter or expand in global markets. Eligible uses may include international sales trips, trade shows, sample shipments, compliance testing, international marketing, and other approved export development costs.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are Michigan small businesses that meet SBA size standards and are seeking reimbursement for eligible export development activities.
Requirements
- Applicant must be an eligible Michigan small business under SBA size standards.
- Project must support export development or significant new international trade opportunities.
- Application must be submitted before travel or before the start of eligible non-travel activity.
