About this program
The City of Independence works with businesses and the Missouri Department of Economic Development to use appropriate economic development incentives that increase the tax base, create and retain family-sustaining jobs, and reinvest in targeted areas of the city.
Eligibility
Eligible businesses considering expansion, relocation, redevelopment, job creation, or reinvestment projects in Independence.
Requirements
- Coordinate with Independence economic development staff before project commitments
- Submit project investment, jobs, wages, location, financing, and public benefit information
- Receive applicable city and state approvals
