CDBG-funded City of Buffalo grant program offering working-capital assistance to small businesses on commercial corridors.

About this program

The City of Buffalo Small Business Grant Program is a new CDBG-funded initiative created in partnership with the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency to support small businesses along Buffalo commercial corridors. The program is intended to strengthen commercial activity, support business retention and expansion, and foster inclusive economic growth across the city. Eligible small businesses with 1 to 50 employees may apply for up to $20,000 for working capital needs such as payroll, rent or mortgage payments, utilities, inventory for production or resale, marketing, and professional services. The city is currently collecting interest forms and will invite businesses that submit the form to complete the full application.

Eligibility

Small businesses operating on City of Buffalo commercial corridors with 1 to 50 employees that need working capital assistance and can complete the city's interest form and full application process.

Requirements

  • Operate a small business in the City of Buffalo
  • Be located on or serving a city commercial corridor
  • Have 1 to 50 employees
