On-the-Job Training Grants
Reimburses Tennessee employers for a portion of trainee wages when hiring workers who need additional training.
About this program
Tennessee's On-the-Job Training grants help employers hire individuals who do not yet have all required skills for a vacant position. Under an agreement with the Local Workforce Development Area, the program can reimburse up to 50% of the trainee's wages during the approved training period.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are Tennessee employers willing to hire eligible workers who need additional training for vacant positions and enter an on-the-job training agreement with the Local Workforce Development Area.
Requirements
- Employer must identify a vacant position and be willing to hire an eligible trainee who needs additional training.
- Employer must work with the Local Workforce Development Area to develop an OJT contract.
- Training must be tied to a specific job and approved training period.
