About this program
The Texas Enterprise Zone Program encourages private investment and job creation in economically distressed areas by providing state sales and use tax refunds to approved enterprise projects.
Eligibility
Businesses nominated by a local community and approved by the state as enterprise projects, meeting job creation, investment, and economically disadvantaged hiring requirements.
Requirements
- Secure local nomination from Houston or another eligible local government
- Submit state enterprise project application
- Document qualifying jobs, investment, and eligible purchases for refund
