About this program
The City of Independence receives Community Development Block Grant funds from HUD to revitalize neighborhoods, expand affordable housing and economic opportunities, and improve community facilities and services principally benefiting low- and moderate-income residents.
Eligibility
City departments, nonprofits, public agencies, community partners, and eligible projects serving low- and moderate-income Independence residents or qualifying neighborhoods.
Requirements
- Apply through the city's annual CDBG process when applications are open
- Meet HUD eligible activity and national objective requirements
- Submit project scope, budget, beneficiary, compliance, procurement, and reporting documentation
