Maryland Sports Commission – Major Events Fund (MEF)
Maryland's dedicated fund for attracting and supporting major sports events; established by Maryland General Assembly HB 897 (2022); $10M initial deposit with up to $10M available for grants each fiscal year from state lottery proceeds; supports international soccer matches, national championships, CIAA tournament, BMW Championship, Army-Navy Game, Ironman events, and similar major events; applied for simultaneously with the Youth & Amateur Sports Grant via the MSC portal; 2025 portal was open June 27–August 11.

Eligibility
Event organizers, host committees, and rights holders for major national and international sports events seeking to host competitions in Maryland; events must demonstrate significant economic impact, tourism draw, and alignment with Maryland's sports tourism strategy.
