About this program
Wisconsin's Brownfield Site Assessment Grant Program provides grant funds for approved projects that conduct initial environmental assessment and demolition activities on eligible abandoned, idle, or underutilized industrial or commercial sites. The program is intended to help communities and eligible public entities understand site conditions and prepare brownfields for cleanup and redevelopment.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include Wisconsin cities, villages, towns, counties, redevelopment authorities, community development authorities, and Tribal entities with eligible brownfield assessment or demolition projects.
Requirements
- Site must be an abandoned, idle, or underutilized industrial or commercial property in Wisconsin.
- Project must involve eligible environmental assessment or demolition activities.
- Applicant must provide matching investment of at least 20% of the grant amount.
