The Gary Redevelopment Commission may use tax increment financing and redevelopment tools to support eligible projects in designated redevelopment or allocation areas. Assistance can support infrastructure, site preparation, public improvements, redevelopment costs, or project-specific agreements that advance local economic development, job creation, and neighborhood revitalization goals.
Eligibility
Businesses, developers, property owners, and public or nonprofit partners with eligible redevelopment or economic development projects in Gary redevelopment areas may be considered for assistance.
Requirements
- Project must be located in an eligible Gary redevelopment or allocation area.
- Project must advance redevelopment, infrastructure, job creation, or economic development goals.
- Applicant must provide project scope, budget, financing plan, site control, and public benefit information.
