Brownfield and Grayfield Redevelopment Tax Credit — Restaurant and Food Service Space
Tax credits of up to 24% (brownfield) or 12% (grayfield) for restaurants or developers rehabilitating abandoned or underutilized commercial properties for food service uses. Up to 30%/15% if green building standards are met. Max $1.5M per project.

Eligibility
Individuals, LLCs, S corporations, nonprofits, estates, or trusts undertaking qualifying rehabilitation of brownfield or grayfield sites in Iowa for food service or commercial use.
Requirements
- Property must qualify as a brownfield or grayfield
- Application during July–August annual window
- Maximum award of $1.5 million per project
