SBA Boots to Business (B2B)
Free entrepreneurship training program for service members transitioning out of military service, offered worldwide as part of DOD's Transition Assistance Program.
About this program
Boots to Business is a free entrepreneurship education and training program offered by the SBA as part of the U.S. Department of Defense's Transition Assistance Program (TAP) on military installations worldwide. The program provides transitioning service members with an overview of business ownership, including evaluating opportunities, creating a business plan, and resources to launch and grow a business. Boots to Business Reboot extends the program to veterans of all eras and their spouses in community-based settings. Boots to Business Revenue Readiness helps participants turn business ideas into actual revenue models.
Eligibility
Active duty service members participating in TAP (including those within 24 months of retirement or 12 months of separation); spouses; veterans of all eras (through Reboot); National Guard and Reserve members (through Reboot).
Requirements
- Active duty, transitioning, veteran, or military spouse status
- Registration through installation TAP office (B2B) or local SBA office/VBOC (Reboot)
- Two-day in-person course + 8-week optional online follow-on (Revenue Readiness)
