About this program
Seattle Public Utilities and WM offer ReThink Waste Grants to support community-driven projects that reduce waste, increase recycling, expand composting, and prevent materials from going to landfill. The 2026 program offers individual grants from $500 to $5,000 for Seattle community organizations, small businesses, and nonprofits located within WM's Seattle service area.
Eligibility
Seattle small businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations proposing eligible waste reduction, reuse, recycling, or composting projects in WM's Seattle service area.
Requirements
- Applicant must be located within WM's service area in Seattle.
- Applicant must be a small business, nonprofit, or community organization.
- Project must reduce waste, support reuse, expand recycling or composting, or prevent landfill disposal.
