About this program
The Decatur Commercial Facade Improvement Grant provides financial assistance for exterior renovations and repairs to small businesses and commercial or mixed-use buildings in the City of Decatur. The program is intended to enhance curb appeal and support local retailers, restaurants, bakeries, breweries, and other commercial businesses. Grants are reimbursed after approved project completion and documentation, with the Decatur Downtown Development Authority covering up to 75 percent of approved costs, not to exceed $10,000, and limited micro-grants available for smaller improvements.
Eligibility
Small businesses and commercial property owners in the City of Decatur may apply for eligible facade improvements if they meet the DDA's applicant, project, and licensing criteria.
Requirements
- Business or commercial property must be located in the City of Decatur.
- Applicant must meet small business criteria, including operating no more than three stores in Georgia and employing 25 or fewer people.
- Project must involve eligible exterior improvements such as masonry repairs, storefront reconstruction, painting, awnings, windows, doors, lighting, signage, gutters, facade-related roof repairs, outdoor seating improvements, pressure washing, or graffiti removal.
