New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services Training and Apprenticeship Support

Training and apprenticeship support for disabled New Jersey job seekers pursuing trades where appropriate.

About this program

DVRS helps eligible New Jersey residents with disabilities prepare for, obtain, and maintain employment, including vocational school, trade school, on-the-job training, apprenticeships, job coaching, and supported employment that may support construction and skilled trades pathways when appropriate. Deadline notes: Applications are generally accepted year-round through DVRS offices. Notes: Not construction-only; include only when the approved vocational goal is a trade, apprenticeship, or construction-related occupation.

Eligibility

New Jersey residents with a physical, mental, cognitive, or other disability that creates a substantial impediment to employment and who can benefit from vocational rehabilitation services.

Requirements

  • Apply through DVRS and provide disability documentation, employment goal, vocational evaluation information, training needs, and materials required for an individualized plan for employment.
