Iowa Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credit – Advanced Manufacturing
Refundable Iowa tax credit for qualified R&D expenditures available to businesses primarily engaged in advanced manufacturing; certified by IEDA and allocated on a pro rata basis; excess credit is refunded in cash if it exceeds Iowa income taxes owed.

Eligibility
Iowa businesses primarily engaged in advanced manufacturing, bioscience, insurance and finance, or technology and innovation that are actively investing in qualified R&D within Iowa; must be certified by IEDA.

- Actively investing in qualified R&D within Iowa
- Apply for and receive IEDA certification
