The Independence Square TIF District Facade Grant Program supports facade and structural improvements to buildings located in the Independence Square TIF District. The program reimburses eligible property and business owners for actual approved costs that improve appearance, preserve historic character, enhance visitor safety, promote commercial vitality, and increase economic activity on the Square.
Eligibility
Property owners and business owners with eligible buildings in the Independence Square TIF District may apply for approved facade or structural improvement projects.
Requirements
- Building must be located within the Independence Square TIF District boundary.
- Project must involve eligible facade or structural improvements and be consistent with the Square TIF Plan.
- Applicant must submit the 2026 application and receive approval before starting reimbursable work.
