Alaska Rural Development Initiative Fund
Alaska offers loans up to $150,000 for one borrower or $300,000 for multiple borrowers to finance rural business startup and expansion projects.
About this program
The Rural Development Initiative Fund finances startup and expansion of rural Alaska businesses that create significant long-term employment. Eligible businesses must be located in small or remote Alaska communities, and loan proceeds may be used for working capital, equipment, construction, or other commercial purposes. Projects must create new jobs or retain existing jobs in the eligible community.
Eligibility
Businesses located in eligible rural Alaska communities may apply for financing that creates or retains jobs and supports startup or expansion.
Requirements
- Business must be in an eligible rural community based on population and road or rail connection criteria.
- Loan proceeds must be used for working capital, equipment, construction, or other commercial purposes.
- Project must create new jobs or retain existing jobs in the eligible community.
