Louisiana’s Restoration Tax Abatement program encourages rehabilitation of existing structures by providing a property tax abatement on the increased assessed value resulting from improvements. Shreveport commercial property owners and businesses renovating qualifying buildings may benefit from the incentive.
Eligibility
Owners of qualifying existing commercial structures and owner-occupied residences undertaking approved rehabilitation projects in Louisiana.
Requirements
- Apply through the local governing authority and Louisiana Economic Development
- Complete eligible rehabilitation work on an existing structure
- Meet program approval, inspection, and tax documentation requirements
