Nixa Neighborhood Improvement District Financing
Nixa may use Neighborhood Improvement Districts to finance eligible public improvements that support development and property investment.
About this program
The City of Nixa recognizes Neighborhood Improvement Districts as a public improvement financing tool under Missouri law. A NID can finance improvements such as streets, curbs, crosswalks, water works, lift stations, landscaping, and recreational facilities through special assessments on benefitted property, supporting development and property reinvestment in defined areas.
Eligibility
Property owners, developers, businesses, and benefitted property groups seeking eligible public improvements in Nixa may pursue NID financing through the City.
Requirements
- Proposed district and improvements must be located in Nixa.
- Improvements must be eligible public improvements under Missouri NID law.
- District must be established by vote or petition of at least two-thirds of property owners in the proposed district.
