Grant funding for new and existing retail businesses in targeted Albany neighborhood commercial corridors.
About this program
The Neighborhood Retail Grant Program supports businesses interested in establishing a new storefront in Albany and helps enhance existing retail businesses in strategically identified neighborhood commercial corridors. Eligible projects must be located in identified corridors within West Hill, Arbor Hill, North Albany, and South End, which are Albany Community Development Agency Neighborhood Strategy Areas. Grant funding can assist with renovation and fit-up costs for new storefronts or exterior improvements to commercial properties.
Eligibility
Retail businesses establishing or enhancing storefront locations in eligible commercial corridors within Albany's West Hill, Arbor Hill, North Albany, or South End Neighborhood Strategy Areas.
Requirements
- Operate or plan to operate a retail storefront in an eligible Albany neighborhood commercial corridor
- Locate the project in West Hill, Arbor Hill, North Albany, or South End Neighborhood Strategy Areas
- Use funds for eligible new location renovation, fit-up costs, or exterior property improvements
