About this program
Through its Engineering Directorate, the National Science Foundation funds basic and applied research in clean energy, sustainable manufacturing, energy efficiency, carbon capture, water-energy nexus, and grid technology. Programs include the Energy, Power, Control, and Networks division, Sustainable Energy Pathways, and the Engineering Research Centers. Small businesses can access NSF support through the NSF SBIR/STTR programs (America's Seed Fund), with Phase I awards up to $305,000 and Phase II awards up to $1.25 million.
Eligibility
U.S. universities, research institutions, and small businesses. Small businesses must meet SBA size standards. Research teams may include foreign collaborators with NSF approval.
Requirements
