About this program
Capitalize Albany’s Neighborhood Retail Grant Program supports retail businesses establishing new storefronts or improving existing locations in targeted neighborhood commercial corridors in West Hill, Arbor Hill, North Albany, and the South End. Funds can assist with renovation, fit-up, and exterior improvements.
Eligibility
Retail businesses new to Albany, existing Albany retailers expanding into eligible locations, and qualifying existing neighborhood retail locations in designated corridors.
Requirements
- Locate project in an eligible Albany neighborhood commercial corridor
- Operate a qualifying retail, food, merchandise, or service business open to the public
- Submit application, budget, lease or site control information, and required owner consent
