Kansas Entrepreneurship Challenge (KEC) – State Championship
Annual statewide championship held at Kansas State University each spring for local YEC winners, awarding cash prizes to top student entrepreneurs; funded at nearly $100,000 annually for three years through a K-State/4-H partnership; includes a Mock Board Room, trade show, and design challenge. 2026 KEC State held April 28 at K-State.

Eligibility
Students in grades 6-12 enrolled in a Kansas school who have won or been selected from a local YEC competition; up to 15 wildcard entries allowed for non-first-place local finishers.
Requirements
- Student in grades 6-12 enrolled in a Kansas school
- Win or qualify from a sanctioned local YEC event, or submit as a wildcard entry
- Register for the KEC State Championship by the deadline (typically late March)
