SBA 8(a) Business Development Program – Native American Track (Louisiana)

Federal program providing nine years of contracting assistance, training, and technical support to Native American-owned small businesses; Louisiana enrolled tribal members of federally recognized tribes (Chitimacha, Coushatta, Jena Band of Choctaw, Tunica-Biloxi) satisfy the social disadvantage requirement via tribal enrollment; tribally owned Louisiana enterprises also eligible with additional sole-source contracting benefits.

Eligibility

Small businesses at least 51% owned by enrolled members of Louisiana's federally recognized tribes or other federally recognized AI/AN tribes; tribal enrollment satisfies the social disadvantage narrative requirement; must also demonstrate economic disadvantage and qualify as a small business under SBA size standards.

Requirements

  • At least 51% owned and controlled by a Native American individual or tribal entity
  • Enrolled in a federally recognized AI/AN tribe
  • Qualify as a small business under SBA size standards
