About this program
California Competes Tax Credit is a negotiated income tax credit for businesses that want to locate, stay, or grow in California and create quality jobs and investment. Oakland businesses and expansion projects can compete in statewide application rounds.
Eligibility
Businesses of any size and industry proposing job creation and investment in California, including Oakland, and meeting GO-Biz evaluation criteria.
Requirements
- Apply during a California Competes application period
- Provide project location, jobs, wages, investment, tax credit request, and business information
- Negotiate agreement and meet job and investment milestones if awarded
