About this program
North Las Vegas includes federally designated Opportunity Zones intended to attract long-term private capital to low-income communities. Qualified Opportunity Fund investments may receive federal capital gains tax benefits when invested in eligible businesses or real estate projects located in Opportunity Zones.
Eligibility
Qualified Opportunity Funds, investors, businesses, and real estate projects located in eligible North Las Vegas Opportunity Zone census tracts.
Requirements
- Project or business must be located in a designated Opportunity Zone and meet federal qualified opportunity property rules
- Invest through a Qualified Opportunity Fund and comply with holding period, substantial improvement, and reporting requirements
- Coordinate legal, tax, and project documentation with qualified advisors
