About this program
The Downtown Facade Improvement Program encourages property and business owners within downtown Cedar Rapids to renovate building fronts and exteriors visible to the public. Project costs are shared by the Downtown SSMID Commission and the City of Cedar Rapids to improve vibrancy, functionality, and building appearance.
Eligibility
Downtown Cedar Rapids property owners and business owners with eligible exterior improvement projects.
Requirements
- Property must be in the eligible downtown area
- Submit application, project scope, design, and cost estimates
- Receive approval before beginning reimbursable work
