About this program
The City of Fort Smith Community Development Department administers Community Development Block Grant entitlement funds from HUD to support activities that benefit low- and moderate-income residents, prevent or eliminate slum and blight, or meet urgent community needs. Eligible activities can include public services, neighborhood facilities, housing rehabilitation, infrastructure, accessibility, and certain economic development activities carried out by eligible nonprofits, public agencies, and project sponsors.
Eligibility
Eligible nonprofit organizations, public agencies, community partners, and qualified project sponsors serving Fort Smith residents or neighborhoods may apply through the City's annual CDBG funding process.
Requirements
- Project must serve Fort Smith residents or neighborhoods.
- Activity must meet a HUD CDBG national objective.
- Applicant must be an eligible organization or implementing partner under CDBG rules.
