About this program
The California Competes Grant Program provides negotiated grant support for businesses making significant new investments and creating jobs in California when a grant is more appropriate than a tax credit.
Eligibility
Businesses with competitive California expansion, retention, or relocation projects that create significant jobs and investment and meet GO-Biz grant criteria.
Requirements
- Coordinate with GO-Biz and apply during California Competes grant periods when available
- Provide project, jobs, wages, investment, financial need, competition, and economic impact information
- Execute grant agreement and meet performance, reporting, and clawback requirements
