Eligibility
Eligible Rhode Island businesses may claim the credit for qualifying apprentices in approved trades such as machinist, toolmaker, model-maker, machine tool repairer, die-cutter, mold-maker, and plastics-process technician roles.
Requirements
- Employ a qualifying apprentice in an eligible trade.
- Apprenticeship must meet applicable state approval and documentation requirements.
- Maintain payroll, apprenticeship, and tax records supporting the credit.
