Nixa may support Community Improvement Districts that finance eligible public improvements and services for business or development districts.
About this program
The City of Nixa recognizes Community Improvement Districts as an economic development financing tool under Missouri law. A CID can finance public improvements or services within a defined district through approved taxes or assessments, supporting projects such as sidewalks, streets, utilities, drainage, landscaping, parks, pedestrian areas, and other improvements that benefit properties and businesses in the district.
Eligibility
Property owners, businesses, developers, and district petitioners seeking eligible public improvements or services in a proposed Nixa Community Improvement District may pursue CID financing.
Requirements
- Proposed district must be located in Nixa.
- District must be created by petition under Missouri CID requirements.
- Funds must support eligible public improvements or services within the district.
