About this program
Reading’s LERTA Program phases in tax increases attributable to eligible commercial new construction or rehabilitation over a ten-year schedule. The program is intended to encourage commercial investment and property revitalization in the city.
Eligibility
Commercial property owners making eligible improvements or new construction in the City of Reading and applying at the required point in the permitting process.
Requirements
- Submit LERTA application when securing the building permit or official project notification
- Provide property, construction, and assessment information
- Comply with city, county, and school district abatement procedures
