Federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants of $70K-$1M available to Georgia small businesses developing innovative technologies. Georgia Tech and SBDC provide free preparation assistance to local applicants.
About this program
Phase I awards typically $70K-$300K for feasibility/proof of concept. Phase II up to $1M+ for prototype development. Phase III for commercialization. Non-dilutive funding - government does not take equity. ATDC offers SBIR Phase Zero $25K bridge grants for proposal prep.
Eligibility
For-profit U.S. small businesses with 500 or fewer employees. SBIR is for the small business; STTR requires partnership with a research institution. Open to Georgia businesses across many federal agencies (NIH, NSF, NASA, DoD, USDA, DoE, DHS, EPA, NOAA, etc.).
