About this program
The Kansas Community Development Block Grant Economic Development program provides financing to cities and counties for projects that support private business expansion and job creation or retention. Funds may be loaned or granted to businesses through local governments for working capital, machinery and equipment, infrastructure, or other eligible project costs. Projects must meet federal CDBG national objectives, including benefit to low- and moderate-income persons.
Eligibility
Kansas cities and counties may apply on behalf of eligible businesses for economic development projects that create or retain jobs.
Requirements
- Applicant must be an eligible Kansas city or county applying on behalf of a business project.
- Project must create or retain jobs and meet CDBG low- and moderate-income benefit requirements.
- Funds must be used for eligible economic development costs such as working capital, machinery, equipment, or infrastructure.
