Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (YEC) Series – Local Competition
Annual local-level entrepreneurship competition for Kansas students in grades 6-12 held in 64+ counties and communities statewide; students pitch a real or proposed business through a written business plan, elevator pitch, formal presentation, and trade show display, competing for local prize money. Local winners advance to the KEC State Championship.

Eligibility
Students in grades 6-12 (middle and high school) enrolled in a Kansas school or community; business concept and venture must demonstrate student management and ownership.
Requirements
- Student in grades 6-12 enrolled in a Kansas school
- Present a student-owned business concept or venture
- Prepare a written business plan, executive summary, elevator pitch, formal presentation, and trade show display
