About this program
Army Emergency Relief provides financial assistance to eligible soldiers and families for emergency needs such as rent, utilities, food, vehicle expenses, emergency travel, medical costs, and other essential needs. Assistance may be a grant, interest-free loan, or combination. Deadline notes: Applications are accepted as needs arise. Notes: National military relief society program available to eligible Army-connected New Jersey families.
Eligibility
Active-duty Army soldiers and eligible dependents, plus Army Reserve and National Guard soldiers activated on Title 10 orders for more than 30 days and eligible dependents, subject to AER rules.
Requirements
- Provide military ID or eligibility documentation, current LES or income information, proof of emergency need, bills or estimates, and any documents requested by the AER officer or assistance partner.
