About this program
The Alaska Fisheries Enhancement Loan Program finances planning, construction, and operation of fish hatchery facilities, including preconstruction activities needed to obtain a permit and construction or operating costs for permitted hatchery facilities. Eligible borrowers include qualified regional associations and private nonprofit corporations with private nonprofit hatchery permits, and planning loans may be available before a permit is received.
Eligibility
Qualified regional associations and private nonprofit corporations developing or operating eligible Alaska fish hatchery facilities may apply.
Requirements
- Applicant must be a qualified regional association or private nonprofit corporation.
- Applicant must have a private nonprofit hatchery permit from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game or be seeking planning or preconstruction financing before permit receipt.
- Loan proceeds must be used for hatchery planning, construction, preconstruction, or operations.
