About this program
Through the Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaker (EJ TCGM) program, EPA selected 11 regional grantmakers that distribute subgrants to community-based organizations, tribes, and small businesses tackling pollution, climate vulnerability, and clean energy access in disadvantaged communities. Subgrants typically range from $75,000 to $500,000 for projects like community solar, energy efficiency, air monitoring, and resilience. All funds must be obligated by September 30, 2026.
Eligibility
Community-based nonprofits, tribal governments, local governments, and small businesses serving disadvantaged communities. Subgrants administered by the 11 regional grantmakers; each has its own eligibility nuances.
Requirements
- Identify your EPA region and corresponding TCGM grantmaker
- Apply directly to the TCGM grantmaker (not EPA) during open application windows
- Document project location and community demographics
