The SBA-funded VBOC at Mississippi State University is the Veterans Business Outreach Center covering Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama; provides free business counseling, Boots to Business training at Fort Johnson (formerly Fort Polk) and Barksdale AFB, business plan assistance, government contracting guidance, mentoring, and resource referrals to veterans and military spouses statewide.

All U.S. military veterans, transitioning active-duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, military spouses, and their families in Louisiana seeking to start or grow a small business.
