University City Chapter 100 Tax Abatement

University City may use Chapter 100 tax abatement for qualifying business expansion and development projects.

About this program

University City has used Missouri Chapter 100 as part of business incentive packages for qualifying expansion projects, including project-specific tax abatement for commercial and production facilities. Under Chapter 100, a municipality may issue industrial development bonds and hold project property during the incentive term, allowing negotiated real or personal property tax abatement and, when applicable, sales and use tax benefits for eligible project costs.

Eligibility

Businesses and developers with qualifying industrial, office, warehouse, distribution, production, or business expansion projects in University City may seek Chapter 100 consideration.

Requirements

  • Project must be located in University City and qualify under Missouri Chapter 100 rules.
  • Applicant must demonstrate capital investment, job creation or retention, business expansion, or other public benefit.
  • Applicant must provide project budget, financing plan, employment impact, property information, and requested incentive details.
